Inkjet Refilling Services, a better way to print
Premium ink cartridge refilling services are provided by WHSmith LOCAL:
Barking Local 36 – 38 Station Parade, London
WHSmith LOCAL personnel are trained to refill over 300 different ink cartridge types from all the major manufacturers (i.e. HP, Epson, Canon, Brother) and can answer any additional questions you may have. It typically takes less than an hour to complete the refill from the time you drop the cartridges off. WHSmith LOCAL stands behind product and performance – guaranteed. All of our inks closely match original manufacturer’s ink quality – we are sure you’ll be satisfied with both color ‘pop’, image longevity and output page yield (i.e. number of pages printed).
Up to 50% value.
Many customers are taking advantage of the cost savings – up to 50% versus buying new cartridges. Our patented InkCenter™ provides a high performance system for cartridge refilling designed for the retail environment. Our precise refill process carefully cleans, fills, and tests each cartridge to ensure quality and reliability.
Like new quality.
We use 27 unique premier pigment and dye inks, creating outstanding print quality similar to manufacturer brand name cartridges. With exceptional quality control standards, our precise refill system carefully cleans, fills, and tests each cartridge to ensure flawless performance. All of our inks closely match original manufacturer’s ink quality – we are sure you’ll be satisfied with both color ‘pop’ and image longevity performance.
More printed pages.
Our patented vacuum seal technology completely fills the empty cartridge, automatically eliminating trapped air, which maximizes ink volume and number of pages per refill. Our refilled cartridges last as long, and often longer, than original cartridges. Results of the most recent tests by QualityLogic showed that refill yields (pages) exceeded original cartridge’s published yields by 10-20% in all cases.
Please note refill customers may experience “alerts” when using refilled cartridges. These nuisance messages are simply deterrents created by manufacturers and should be bypassed by pressing “OK”, “proceed”, “continue”, “accept”, etc. Refilling extends the life of ink cartridges and DOES NOT impact your printer warranty; for more information click here.
Think refill not landfill; reusing is the PUREST form of recycling. On-site inkjet refilling delivers a reliable, eco-friendly solution to retail environments. Each year more than a billion inkjet cartridges and packaging end up in landfills. By reusing your cartridges, you can have an immediate positive impact on our environment. In addition, our refilling services reuse plastic cartridges without voiding the printer warranty.
Refilling all major brands.
Supporting all major brands (90% of cartridges market). Refer to refill center’s list for cartridges currently supported or refer to our general cartridge support list.
Your cartridges can be filled at a retail location near you – the process takes minutes. Print cartridges can deliver excellent quality long after they first run out of ink; just bring your empty ink cartridges into a Maplin ink refill center.
Customers can achieve multiple refills on a well-maintained integrated cartridge before deciding to replace it with a new one. Most tank-based cartridges (i.e. those found in 4, 5 and 6 ink cartridge equipped printer models) can be typically refilled up to 10 times until it leaks or exhibits damage. Our network of retailers stand behind the product and performance – guaranteed.
What types of cartridges can be refilled?
We currently refill the top HP, Canon, Epson and Brother inkjet cartridges. We do NOT refill aftermarket ink tanks which include all HP, Epson, Canon & Brother 4, 5 and 6 cartridge-based printer models. Manufacturers trademark logo must be visible on cartridge’s label or it will be rejected for refilling. All 2-cartridge printer models, including manufacturer original and aftermarket ink cartridges, are supported for refilling. Laser/toner cartridges are not supported for refilling. Over 90% of the inkjet ink cartridges from the leading manufacturers can be refilled.
Which printers are the most refill friendly?
How to Refill Ink Cartridges (HP, Canon, Epson & Brother)
Why doesn’t your service support my cartridge?
Some cartridges have a different design which are not economical to refill them. For replacement, please check the retailers website to see which cartridges are covered. NOTE: Some of the newer ink cartridges are being refilled at select stores – refer to our Beta Programs page for details.
Others – In order to provide the lowest price possible, service is normally limited to only those cartridges that represent the majority of the market.
You may consider buying a new printer, which can cost about the same as replacing two older cartridges. This will allow you to use a refiller service; see our refill friendly printer model list.
How long does it take to refill a cartridge?
Typically, it typically takes less than an hour to refill a cartridge. Refill center representatives should provide you with a pick-up time based on the daily service volume.
Can I refill my cartridge here even if I have had it refilled elsewhere?
As long as your cartridge is in good working order, the refill center will normally make every attempt to refill it for you. Please note that if a cartridge has more than 25% of remaining ink inside it may be rejected by the refiller since an overflow of the cartridge may occur – return cartridge for ink refilling once you have verified it is out of ink (i.e. print fade is observed, etc.).
Is there a recommended usage date for a refilled cartridge?
The refilled ‘integrated printhead’ ink cartridge (i.e. visible electrical contacts & nozzle plate at base of ink cartridge) should be used within 90 days of refill, and remain in the plastic storage clip until ready for use.
Individual ink cartridges (often referred to as tanks) have an extended life and may be used up to one (1) year following ink refill. NOTE: We do not refill aftermarket ink tanks (i.e. the HP, Epson, Canon or Brother trademark logo must be visible on cartridge’s label or it will be rejected for refilling).
When refilling and using ink tanks (i.e. those cartridges found in 4, 5, and 6-cartridge equipped printer models), it is suggested to follow these general guidelines to help maximize print quality output and maintain a healthy printer.
